Having an ATV with an engine that is too powerful can be very dangerous. For younger children, it is recommended that you stick with the smaller 50cc engines. When they become teenagers and have outgrown their ATV, they should be able to ride a quad bike with a larger engine. Many kids quads come with remote speed control so parents can control how fast the kids are going.

It is also very important to ensure that your child has all of the right safety equipment. This includes a helmet, goggles, gloves, appropriate footwear and a chest protector. When buying this equipment, it is worth spending a little bit extra to get good quality equipment.
